Summer brings sunshine, long lazy afternoons and musical tunes to Emmarentia Dam, Johannesburg Botanic Gardens, with the second series of the Old Mutual Encounters Concerts.
Kicking off on the first Sunday of November with a
packed line-up, the 2008/2009 series promises to have something for
young and old. Venue DetailsGates will open at 13:00 and the concert will end around 18:00. Concertgoers are welcome to linger after the concert but are asked to leave the garden by 20:00.Included in the entertainment is a kids’ area where parents can leave their kids (under adult supervision) while enjoying the show. Concertgoers are advised not to bring any glass containers, cans or alcohol into the show as they are not allowed. Cooler bags, tons of sunblock, picnic blanket and umbrellas are all welcome! Because the venue is a Botanical Garden, no fires or braais are permitted inside the entertainment area. In addition, the concert area is bin-free, so concertgoers are asked to take all their litter with them when they leave. TicketsTickets are already on sale for R50 each at http://www.tunegum.com/ and will be available at the gate on the day of the performance. If an event is rained out concertgoers are welcome to use their ticket at any of the other events in this line up to the same monetary value. We regret that refunds will not be paid. Line-UpThe line-up for the first half of the series is as follows:
