Oppikoppi Easter

This being my first partaking in the exodus from conventional life to that far off hill just the other side of Northam, otherwise known as Oppikoppi, I naturally had high expectations of this much hyped and revered music festival. I was not dissappointed.

Charged with manning the monitor desk on stage afforded me about 32 hours of up-front, intimate and exciting listening. The first evening saw among others The Hothouse Flowers with excellent performances from obviously experienced band members getting the crowd excited, despite that most would have heard their music for the first time. To me though, the highlight of the weekend would have to be the Parlotones. I enjoyed their stage presence and found them a real down to earth bunch while chatting to them on-stage.
